More Books to come? Dear Adjetey Anang and Yvonne Nelson does Sex Sell?

Let's Talk About Sex, Baby! We can Deny Later.

What happened?
After the release of the very famous, I am Not Yvonne Nelson Memoir by Ghanaian movie personality Yvonne Nelson, Another prominent movie personality, Adjetey Anang, for his 50th birthday, has also had a massive launch of his book. While the dust from I am not Yvonne Nelson is yet to settle, Adjetey Anang has, through wild revelations in his book, given Ghanaians something new to feed on and something to talk about, Marital Infidelity.

While Yvonne Nelson's book was shrouded with sensational revelations about her sex life, love life, and family life, Adjetey Anang's play on shocking family, love, and marital life has also caused a stir.

What are people saying?

Like Yvonne Nelson, Adjetey Anang has received severe criticism and backlash online and on the media for making public what the "highly moralized" Ghanaians believe to be sacred and private. To most people, marital infidelity shouldn't be something he should be proud of as it disgraces both his wife and marriage.

In his defence, Adjetey Anang has come out with a different explanation for what he meant by Emotional and physical cheating on his wife.

The Talkative:

I am not Yvonne Nelson received the massive trend and "talkability" online, and traditional media is a testament to SEX SELLS! While the book is a good read, one thing that kept the book on the trend longer than any other conversation usually last on the minds of short-attention-span Ghanaians was her revelation of her sexual affair with Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie. That was a bombshell no one expected, and her decision to tell that story in her book to me was purely a Marketing tool.

The impact that page of her book made and how it shot up interest in the book made it a worthwhile revelation solely for marketing and financial purposes. Sex drives sales.

Similarly, a salacious unravelling into his somewhat perfect marriage life seems to have piqued the interest of "prude Ghanaians" and has been a great marketing tool for Adjetey Anang. While Ghanaians seem to frown on these revelations, they also have an exciting way of investing their time, data, and money in something they consider "improper", and if anyone has detected Sex and sensationalism as one of the powerful marketing tools in the "Christian country" then I say Eureka!

With books being one of the untapped sources of income for celebrities, and with excellent sales and talkabilities around Yvonne and Adjetey's book, It begs the question, "Will there be more books with scandalous revelations coming our way?"
