Table of Men Expose weaknesses in Ghana's creative Associations.
Agenda must Agend!
What Happened?
In the last three years, Table of Men has made significant strides to be the support system the gospel industry in Ghana needs. For a long time, gospel music was sidelined in relevant industry conversations and advancement for many reasons.
While the advocacy group is not without challenges, the awards season heavily highlighted their activities as they supported Piesie Esther for the Artist of the Year at the VGMA23 edition. Their impact was severe and projected the Artist the best way they could.
According to Nii Noi, a member of the Table of Men, their activities are not commercial and have the sole purpose of educating, uplifting and building the capacity of the gospel Sector in Ghana.
What are people saying?
Lovers of gospel music are thrilled about the activities of this Pressure group, Table of Men. Their advocacy and projection of the gospel musicians and their challenges have significantly impacted how the sector is perceived and treated.
Most gospel musicians are also thankful for the existence of such a Pressure group and have endorsed their activities. However, some gospel artists who have not directly benefited from this advocacy group have had controversial opinions about their work.
The Talkative:
Advocacy groups like Table of Men are crucial to the growth and development of every sector. The ability of these groups to set purposeful agenda and push with their skills and resources help achieve astronomical results than simply leaving everything to its fate.
The intentional agenda setting and its results within a short time by Table of Men expose one of the most significant weaknesses in the Creative Arts sector, which is the inability of the various associations and agencies in the creative arts to set a purposeful agenda and push with all their might till the intended result is attained. Usually, misunderstanding amongst these institutions is shrouded with lawsuits and court injunctions that hinder the unity and progress of the association. As a result, their target for the year usually needs to be achieved, significantly stunting the industry's growth.
More independent advocacy groups like Table of Men should then be encouraged to fill the loopholes in the various associations in Ghana to help set the correct agenda to move the industry forward. `
Imagine an intentional agenda to project at least four new creatives every year to the rest of the world or deliberate agenda to project Ghana-made music and movies no matter what.
Congrats to the table of men and their success in the industry so far.
