Asakaa Boys just begun; "o2 Arena up next”.- Jay Bahd

"Shid just begun; o2 Arena up next!"

What Happened?

Kumasi-raised Drill Musicians, Asakaa, have had an incredible year with beautiful performances during their tour. After announcing their Europe tour, lovers of Asakaa and the Ghanaian drill music at home and in Europe have made it a point to show up in their numbers when needed.

Videos shared from their performance in Manchester, Northampton, London, Modena and Paris have shown that their songs are well-received and enjoyed by communities outside Ghana.

What are people saying?
Generally, Ghanaians have been proud of the Asakaa boys' growth, consistency and daring spirit. While the venues they have played during the tour may have 1000, 500, 800 or less capacity, their efforts are well applauded, and attendees for these events have had a great experience from these shows.

On the other hand, the venue and audience size are a problem for some people. They believe with the pace others are setting with tours and performances, a less than 1000-capacity show is not worth celebrating.

The Talkative:
Rome wasn't built in a day! The work and growth of the Asakaa boys can all be credited to their dedication and consistency. While we love to applaud others for doing thousands of capacity auditoriums, we must equally celebrate and encourage Asakaa boys to start somewhere.

A yearly improvement in these numbers and crowd will culminate in a much bigger auditorium like the O2 Arena. In a post by Jay Bahd, the artist revealed that "shid just begun, o2 Arena up Next".
While this seems like a regular motivational post for the musicians done out of excitement at the moment, it is a goal the young musicians have set for themselves.

The venues they are playing now allow them to make mistakes, learn, grow, research and even discover what works and some hacks in attracting more of such a crowd to fill the O2 Arena in the coming years.

Congrats to the Asakaa team and the promoters they have worked with during the tour.
